Hi, I’m Yousef, the tutor behind Simplified Maths. I’ve been tutoring Maths and Physics full-time for over five years. During that time, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the tutoring industry—from tutoring platforms that don’t work well for either students or tutors, to agencies taking absurd commissions and passing the extra costs onto students’ families, and even tutors who struggle to understand the subjects they teach!

That’s why I started Simplified Maths. My mission is to provide students with high-quality teaching at reasonable prices while offering families a trusted and convenient service.

We are a small tutoring service built on the core principles of honesty, quality, and value. Our goal is to create an environment where every student feels comfortable challenging themselves, asking questions, and—most importantly—making mistakes. Every lesson at Simplified Maths is tailored to the individual student. Sometimes, it’s about working through challenging past paper questions. Other times, it’s about sparking curiosity and showing just how fascinating Maths and Science can be. And occasionally, it’s as simple as reminding students to take a moment and carefully read the question!

My background is in Mechanical Engineering. I studied Maths, Physics, and Biology at A-Level while attending Alleyn’s School in London. I then achieved a First-Class Honours degree from the University of Newcastle before starting my career in the UK automotive industry. I worked as a systems engineer for an electric vehicle startup, designing and developing the next generation of electric vehicles. After a few years as an engineer, I decided to pursue my passion for teaching and start my own online business—and that’s how Simplified Maths was born!
